Investments in new electronics manufacturing area ensure transparency and maximum process reliability

The move into the new production area worked well. Relieved and satisfied with the successful completion of the project, Tobias Eder, head of the electronics production area at GREIPL, explains the advantages this offers for the company and especially for GREIPL's customers: "Our new production area has several advantages. The most obvious: we have significantly more space than before," explains Tobias Eder with a grin. "The new area also offers a lot of potential for future expansion. But the other advantages only become apparent when you look closely."

In modern electronics production, a variety of conditions must be created. Cleanliness and ESD protection are of course essential. However, it becomes more demanding when PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) are manufactured there. An optimal result can only be achieved if the ambient conditions (room temperature and humidity) are kept as constant as possible within a defined tolerance range.

"When planning the new production area, it was important to us to be prepared for the highest demands," says Eder. "A large part of the investment is therefore not visible to our visitors and customers," explains the production manager with some regret.

The situation is different when it comes to storing the components. A large machine stands in the middle of the hall and is clearly visible. "Our components are stored in this machine under controlled conditions. We can see exactly when components were removed and when they were put back in storage. We have a digital file, so to speak, for every component in this warehouse. But that's not all," Tobias Eder continues. "Our storage system also communicates with the assembly systems. This networking enables us to determine which batches of components were installed on which assemblies (PCBAs)."
